The interwar period was the time span between 1918-1939 in which World War 1 and World War 2 were in intermission, hence the term "inter"war. Like most historical events, artist and film-makers used their gifts to depict and tell stories of the events that were happening in their own way. Most films during this time period were documentaries or interview pieces, but there were definitely some feature presentations that showed the characteristics and people of that time period.
Popular Films
At surface, when some people hear about movies during the interwar period. They would think mainly about films mainly pertaining to topics of WW 1 and WW 2. On the contrary, films in the 1920's also contained topics pertaining to the cultural edge that came with Roaring Twenties or the music that came with the time of the Jazz Age.
History
The Film industry really grew popular in the 1920s while building on fundamentals and principals from earlier films. A majority of films that were being made were being produced in Hollywood, New Jersey, and Long Island. Most of the movies being produced in the 1920s were silent films. They became the most popular during this time period. They were being created in a very fast pace "assembly-line" style in factories.
